Satinal Spa announced an investment plan to open, in 2024, a new establishment ed expand its production of interlayers STRATO® EVA, STRATO® POE and STRATO® TPO for lamination of solar panels.
The new plant will be located in the Puglia Region and the production line will be dedicated to STRATO® Solar, new division of the Satinal Group, based on the production of films in EVA, POE and TPO.
The innovative project consists of a 4 year business growth plan divided into 2 phases which, by 2027, aims to expand the STRATO® SOLAR production site up to 20.000 mXNUMX, capable of accommodating an annual production capacity of 10 GW. At full capacity, the plant will create up to nearly 100 new jobs.
Already in 2023, at the Erba headquarters, STRATO® launched the first film in EVA Carbon Free and ISCC+ certified. Furthermore, starting from 2024, 3 STRATO® SOLAR production lines will be dedicated to EVA, POE and TPO, and will start operating with an annual capacity of 2 GW, amounting to 20 million square meters of production capacity.
Furthermore, the grass office will remain the benchmark for interlayer production STRATO® for lamination of safety glass for the world of architecture and interior design, with its 10.000mXNUMX of production center, e will take up to 60 new professional figures. In fact, three lines will continue to produce STRATO safety glass interlayers® EVA, with a production capacity of 30 million square meters, including the version STRATO® EVA Carbon Free, with a view to responding to the increasingly growing demand of the international market.
Satinal's business plan also includes a upgrade of its R&D laboratorya continuous collaboration with the main European research centers and universities. Once again the Company's mission remains that of constantly investing in innovation and research, the best way to offer its customers the right mix of alternative, sustainable and green solutions.
The opening of this pole represents a fundamental milestone for Satinal: STRATO® Solar will become a European reference company for the production of EVA, POE and TPO interlayers for the photovoltaic industry. A 100% Italian product, synonymous with quality and selected raw materials.
The production line ofSTRATO® SOLAR will also include a Carbon Free version. Recent analyses, aimed at determining the environmental profile of the STRATO® product line, have confirmed a score of 1,13 [kg CO2 eq] for the STRATO® Carbon Free line. A surprising result, when compared with the value of 4.5 [kg CO2 eq] achieved by the main competitors.
In Satinal's eyes, the new project is a green challenge that has already been partially won, in bringing innovation while increasing sustainability, quality and circularity of processes and products, demonstrated by the achievement of important certifications. The STRATO® product range is a strategic element for the development of a road map towards carbon neutral processes in 2050.
