The charm of glass processing awaits you at Piegaro, in the province of Perugia. The appointment “The Glassmakers' Work”, which started on 7 and 8 October, will be repeated for the upcoming weekend (from 13th to 15th), bringing visitors closer to asecular art, thanks also to the ignition of the furnace scheduled for late Friday afternoon.
What to expect from the event?
The gathering, now in its XNUMXth edition, welcomes two groups of glassmakers from all over Italy, within the spaces of the Piegaro Glass Museum, to bring back to life the glories of an ancient process, which has characterized the village and its economy since the XNUMXth century.
As part of the Chestnut Festival, “L'Opera dei Vetrai” will unite live manufacturing demonstrations, workshops for children and adults and a glass craft exhibition-market.
The event represents a unique opportunity to observe first-hand different modalities and styles from some of the best glass masters, with demonstrations of furnace and flame work, Tiffany technique, mosaic and glass fusion.
The charm of glass in the moonlight
During the three days of the exhibition, the Piegaro Glass Museum will guarantee an extraordinary opening even in the evening. The visit, including the museum and event, will be completely free. And it will allow you to witness the magic of glass, a material forged by fire and shaped by the expert hands of master craftsmen. An extremely fascinating activity, on the border between art and science, darkness and light, tradition and future.
