We know glass, we love glass

Vitrum 2023 will be a perfect time to meet our customers from all over the world, after two years of forcibly limited personal relationships.

Bottero S.p.A. is pleased to present the latest technological developments in the flat glass and hollow glass sector to the public, sharing the technological roadmap but above all the key projects we are working on.

Bottero's corporate strategy is centered on two main pillars: sustainability and automation.

In terms of sustainability, Bottero focuses on the respect and value of resources, people, stakeholders and the environment, with the aim of leaving a better world for future generations. The attention to sustainability is confirmed by the ISO26000 certification that the company has recently achieved.

In terms of automation, Bottero's investments in R&D are focused on glass processing with cutting-edge technologies, system integration, data collection and analysis with the application of AI algorithms and assembly technologies of solar panels

The activity of the GlassForm.AI company, a joint venture between Bottero and Tiama, which operates 100% in this sector with over 25 engineers dedicated to the development and application of AI algorithms in the sector, fully fits into this paradigm hollow glass and flat glass.

Using cutting-edge technologies, big data and machine learning, this joint venture develops automation tools to provide solutions to automatically manage the forming process according to production objectives, contain environmental impact through energy savings, reduce exposure of operators to machine adjustments through automatic controls and compensate for the loss of process know-how by leveraging the use of artificial intelligence technologies.

The ability to integrate and scale processes, from the basic stand-alone machine up to the automation of the entire factory, are the main objectives of Bottero's business units.

Bottero S.p.A., since 1957, is the only manufacturer of machines and technologies for the production and processing of flat glass and hollow glass, developing stand-alone machines and complete lines.

In the last 5 years, thanks to the growth in demand for solar energy and photovoltaic systems, Bottero has strengthened its presence in the renewable energy segment.

Thanks to important investments in R&D and intelligent solutions for factory automation, 3Sun, a company of the Enel Green Power group, has chosen Bottero technologies for its new 3GW Gigafactory (Tango Project), located in the heart of the industrial area of Catania.

It is the largest photovoltaic panel production hub in Europe, with five production lines of 600 MW photovoltaic panels each in an advanced stage of installation.

"With more than 60.000 active installations worldwide - says Marco Tecchio CEO of Bottero - by applying the principles of Industry 5.0 we have made important investments in automation, bringing innovative solutions to the glass industry with the aim of creating intelligent systems and optimize production processes”.

Bottero with over 750 employees (more than 25% of the workforce is made up of engineers from R&D and services), has a turnover of just under 300 million euros with factories in Cuneo, Montecchio Maggiore, Rovereto and in China.
