Analysis on glass products for over 60 years
La Stazione Sperimentale del Vetro is a research center supervised by the Ministry of Productive Activities and established in 1954 with the task of promoting the technical progress of the national glass industry through surveys, studies, research, analysis.
In Italy he deals with the technical and scientific problems of the entire glass industry institutionally, carrying out the function of transferring the results of research and innovation, developed independently and in collaboration with other Italian and foreign centers and universities. It has been operating in Murano since 1956 on an area of about 2000 square meters; since 2000 it has had additional laboratories at the Venice Science and Technology Park.
The accredited specialized analysis laboratory UNI CEI EN ISO / IEC 17025 carries out the activity of technical-scientific support to the entire glass supply chain: producers, transformers, glass users, producers of raw materials, refractories and plants for the glass industry.
La Stazione Sperimentale del Vetro is competent in multiple sectors, including:
- Environmental chemical sector - Traditional and instrumental chemical analyzes for both assistance and research activities; deals with environmental surveys and related problems and certifications;
- Energy sector, furnaces, thermophysical tests - Plants, ovens, production processes, thermophysical tests, experimental castings, bubbles, modeling and mechanical resistance of containers, both for assistance and research activities;
- Physical sector - Physical analysis and optical tests, both for assistance and research activities;
- Flat glass laboratory for building - The Marghera site has an extension of about 1000 square meters and houses the glass test laboratory for building. The laboratory was created to cover the need for sector certification in compliance with the various national, European and international regulations.
SSV promotes and supports the conscious use of glass in its main ones fields of application: Construction and Architecture, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceuticals, Perfumery and Cosmetics, Household.
