    "Proud to be Fairs"

is the slogan that characterizes the press campaign wanted by CFI (Committee for Industry Fairs) to preserve and enhance the Italian trade fair world which is a real flagship of our economy.

In this period of Covid emergency, the Prime Ministerial Decree of January 15, 2021 (in article 1, point 10, letter n), established that until March 15 2021 "festivals and fairs of any kind are prohibited."

CFI (Industry Fairs Committee) is at the forefront to "protect" and "safeguard" a great heritage of our country and our economy: The specialized fairs.

Secondo CFI it is important to make some clarifications when it comes to "festivals and fairs" associating them in this way, it's not right e creates discomfort to Specialized trade fair organizers dedicated to industrial sectors, especially those of recognized international level.

It is necessary to clarify and avoid confusion towards public opinion, and above all give the right value to strategic importance of the sectoral fairs for the development of the national economy.

CFI specifies that as required by the law of 11 January 2001, (No. 7, Framework Law on the exhibition sector in art. 2 - Definitions) that the "Specialized fairs", limited to one or more homogeneous or interconnected product sectors, they are reserved for professional operators, directed to presentation and promotion of goods or services exhibited, with bargaining only on sample and with possible public access as a visitor.

This type of event differs from "General fairs" and to "Market exhibitions"  which are characterized by the open to the public and directed to sale to the public of the products on display.

The three types indicated must take place within the "exhibition districts", (defined by art.9) such as areas specially equipped and built to host trade fairs.

The characteristics of exhibition districts to host international and national fairs they are specifically established by the resolution of the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces of 24 October 2002.

    - Trade fair organizers with international and national qualifications are obliged to have their own annual balance, verified by an auditing company (art. 5, point 3). The legal criteria indicated above do not appear to have been modified to date.

Keeping these normative premises in mind CFI believes that the “Festivals” cannot be however assimilated to "fairs" as they are events that take place in open areas and are not organized by public or private entities who carry out design, implementation and promotion of trade fairs.
