Founded in 1961 in Hausmening, LiSEC extension is a group that operates worldwide by developing and producing glass cutting and sorting systems, single machines complementary to the processing of double glazing and complete production lines for insulating and laminated glass, as well as machines for edge processing and tempering systems.
On 20 October 1961 Peter Lisec founded the individual company Glastechnische Industrie PETER LISEC. Since its inception, the company has specialized in the creation of products resulting from its own ideas. The business focuses on the shaping and processing of acrylic glass sheets, the production of mirrors and glass polishing.
The revolution in the field of insulating glass began in 1966, when LiSEC began to manufacture, according to its internal know-how, small quantities of machinery and technical tools for the processing of double glazing.
Thanks to the continuous growth both in size and turnover, in 1978 the small sole proprietorship became a company with 150 employees, dedicated not only to double glazing but also to the development and ever-increasing production of machinery and systems for automatic glass processing, opens the second production plant and expands the department dedicated to mechanical engineering.
About 10 years later, in 1989, Lisec becomes the only company able to offer complete systems, establishing itself as a world market leader. Exports rise to 98% and the company has around 450 employees.
In 1993, LiSEC Maschinenbau GmbH was founded in Seitenstetten and in this decade the expansion of the group began through the foundation of several branches in the most important and strategic countries at the same time as the expansion of the innovation department in Seitenstetten, thus exceeding 1600 employees. globally.
Based on the ideals and foundations of the founder, who passed away in 2009, the Glass Forum, the new LiSEC competence center in Hausmening, was inaugurated in 2015. The plant has 10.000 square meters of glass processing and relies on the latest LiSEC technologies: edge cutting and processing, an ingenious logistic system for the sheets, as well as the production of insulating glass and laminated safety glass (VSG) with tempering.
To date, LiSEC boasts the largest fleet of glass processing machines, as well as an extremely advanced software department, can count on about 1.250 employees in over 25 locations around the world and has an export percentage of over 95%.
