The Quistello Recreation Center, also called Hub Oltrepò Mantovano: it is a structure used as a small youth center.
This space is very special and innovative. It is in fact characterized by its own fully glazed cladding which, thanks to a conscious design and to one implementation to perfection guarantees energy efficiency and interior comfort.
The facility was inaugurated in October 2017, the hub was designed and built to respond mainly to needs of the age group between 0 and 18 years.
The space is so functional, flexible and multi-purpose that it is also used by companies, individuals, university students, etc. for various types of events.
The project aimed to redevelop an area close to the historic center of Quistello, which had been abandoned in recent years.
Then we proceeded to create a urban park of about 2 thousand square meters and one aggregation structure designed primarily for local youth.
The leisure center, a single volume on one floor, is divided into two main areas of 60 and 150 square meters (in addition to the necessary service spaces).
Lo Outer space it is partly paved and partly treated as a garden. The paved part is positioned in front of the building, and forms a small square that can be used for external events.
The structure is characterized by a continuous glass facade.
The volume is covered and characterized by a glazed leather (for a total of 200 square meters of surface), this choice allows the building to maintain a strong connection with the design of the outdoor park and allows theentry of sunlight.
The glass cladding is externally shielded by curtains, divided in such a way as to allow one modulation of the amount of light depending on the times of the day, the periods of the year and specific needs.
Despite the lightness of the curtain wall thermal insulation is guaranteed from the use of double glazing (composed as follows: external 10 mm sheet in extra-clear tempered glass, 16 mm cavity with argon gas, internal sheet in extra-clear glass composition 55.2 low acoustic pvb). The doors that allow access to the building are also padded with double sheet with interposed thermal insulation material.
These measures have made it possible to reduce energy demand for the operation of the building and to optimize the levels of environmental comfort in the internal areas, thus following the principles of environmental sustainability.
