GIMAV: the ESG Project builds the virtuous future of the supply chain

GIMAV, the Italian Association of Suppliers of Machinery and Accessories for Glass Processing, has given life to an ambitious sustainability project, thanks to the collaboration with the studio Rödl & PartnerThe program borrows the acronym ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance: the three parameters with which the impact of a company or organization is measured) to track theSustainable Evolution GIMAV.

The objectives of the ESG project

The project, presented during the GIMAV welcome days, intends to support member companies, facilitating and accelerating change in sustainability matters.
The increasingly complex regulatory context, such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, introduces even more stringent reporting and supply chain management obligations, which include aspects such as gender equality, whistleblowing, risk monitoring along the value chain and the ESG ratings required by banking institutions.

The ESG project therefore supports companies in addressing these challenges through dedicated consultancy and tools to implement innovative corporate policies. The Gimav program includes a series of strategic initiatives to support member companies in the transition towards sustainability, including:

    • training and awareness
    • stakeholder engagement
    • measurement and reporting
    • supply chain due diligence.

    VITRUM25: A stage for results

The route will culminate at VITRUM25, scheduled for September 16-19, 2025, at Fiera Milano Rho. An unmissable meeting opportunity for the supply chain, during which a major stakeholder engagement event will be organized to describe the results achieved.

GIMAV presents itself as the first association in the sector to be structured according to a sustainability perspective as a strategic factor for the future. As underlined by theDino Zandonella Necca, President of GIMAV, this path requires a shared commitment by the associated companies in order to create a virtuous model for the entire supply chain. “Sustainable Evolution is not just a compliance journey, but an opportunity to transform ESG challenges into competitive advantages, promoting the central role of the glass industry in the circular economy”.
