Installation of the double glazing
The installation of the glass is regulated by the UNI EN 12488 normative reference (recommendations for installation, principles of installation for vertical and inclined glazing).
The alternative to standard installation is the gluing of the glass to the window frame which allows the window system to be significantly stiffened by exploiting the structural function of the double glazing, for which the additional performance of the product and the methodology used to create this union become decisive.
The benefits are known:
- elimination of mechanical connections between glass and frame
-reduction of deformations due to thermal expansion caused by solar radiation
- longer duration over time
- possibility of minimizing the size of the profile in order to obtain greater transparency
- increased resistance to burglary
-reduction of production costs
CIV SYSTEM S.r.l. distributes the product for bonding in door / window systems Dowsil 776 Instanfix, a one-component neutral alkoxy silicone, whose polymerization is accelerated in the presence of moisture.Unlike standard silicones, Dowsil 776 InstantFix is able to offer immediate resistance to static and dynamic loads with immediate adhesion between the supports, it also has a high resistance to UV rays and bad weather and an operating temperature between -50 ° C and + 150 ° C with adhesive capacity on numerous types of surfaces.
With this bonding the glass and frame form a single body, while maintaining the air space between the sealed edge of the glass and the window frame; at the same time the system, in the absence of a rigid contact between the materials, acquires greater acoustic insulation and a reduced possibility of breaking the sheets.
