Two new collections, Metropolis and Vertigo, a new color palette, an exceptional setting, curated by Vandersandestudio: these are the news that Barovier & Toso proposes in this first edition of the Vision Milan Glass Week. The inspiration of the collections is from the XNUMXs and their glamorous and warm atmospheres. The protagonist is always the Venetian crystal, handcrafted and blown: sober but vigorously expressive and contemporary, the design enhances the combination with the metal elements. Brushed gold and brushed black nickel dialogue with the crystal, modulating and rhythmizing the compositions, a reference to the geometries and aesthetics of art deco. The colors of the new palette are modern and trendy, bright in shades but characterized by low saturation, for a soft and refined effect. The windows of the Barovier & Toso showroom in via Durini will have a dual role, designed by Vandersandestudio with the aim of contextualizing the new proposals, but also giving a glimpse into the world of the furnace, through a symbolic visual element of the gestures that occur within the process. production of artistic glass.
Also on display is the very recent Opéra collection designed by Philippe Nigro.
Inspired by the Opéra Garnier, it stands out for its eclectic and decorative character, expressed by stylistic mixes and a marked compositional balance. Subtle contrasts that animate the collection. The references to a certain baroque sumptuousness are in fact softened by more minimal and contemporary aspects, in favor of a delicate and harmonious combination.
