Office Center 1000, also called the "Banknote Building" is a 10-storey office building in the shape of a 1.000 LTL banknote (the Lithuanian litas) and is located in Kaunas, the second largest city in Lithuania and the center of its economy .
The structure was completed in 2008, the feature that makes it unique and decidedly particular is that the external façade has been made up of 4.500 glass panels, they are enameled glass tiles that together create the image of a historical 1.000 banknote. LTL.
The glass tiles fit together like a giant puzzle. The glass was made in the Netherlands and is a type of product that can withstand even the most extreme Lithuanian climate.
This building was built to celebrate Lithuania's accession to the European Union in 2004.
The Office Center 1000 was designed by architect Rimas Adomaitis of RA Studio, a young and relatively unknown but promising talent who enjoys experimenting with forms and new technologies.
