We are happy to inform you that the United Nations General Assembly, which met yesterday 18 May, voted in favor to establish in the 2022 il United Nations International Year of Glass.
The proposal, promoted and presented in 2018 by International Commission on Glass (ICG), ICOM Glass and the entire Community of Glass Associations (COGA) of which GIMAV is part and VITRUM is the main supporter of it, met with the support of over 1.500 signatories including companies, associations, universities and research centers, historical and cultural institutions from 79 Countries from all 5 continents.
GIMAV e VITRUM will continue to actively participate in the project by taking part in the Technical Commission which will be responsible for the conception and organization of the activities to be carried out during the year, so that it is an opportunity for visibility, promotion and relaunch of the Made in Italy sector to world level.
